Scripture: John 11:20-45

I was surprised…

That We Headed To The Cemetery

             Resuscitations We Had Seen Before.

              Resurrections Are A Different Category. 

That This Moment Moved Jesus.

               No One Grieves Alone

               It Wasn’t Supposed To Be This Way.

That We Removed The Stone.

                For The Obvious Reason

                And Lazarus Came Forth.

Conclusion:  We are never alone!

                 Jesus sees us.

                 Jesus cries with us.

Main points of the story:

It’s risky following Jesus

              Powerful people feel threatened

              Friends feel forgotten

Jesus’ ways are not our ways.

             Sometimes His ways are confusing.

             Sometimes His Ways raises questions

Jesus doesn’t mind our expressions of frustration

              He forgives our foolish outbursts

              He understands our pain

The Lord Is All Powerful 

                He Heals Our Afflictions

                He Softens Hearts

The Lord Is Ever Present

                He Sees The Potholes

                He Watches Others As Well

The Lord Is Over Protective

                He Provides Shade

                He Protects Us From Ourselves
